Relief

The BO put this on FB this afternoon. Two happy, content and completely relaxed horses enjoying a nap together.

Looking back, I never once saw either horse laying down at the last barn. Its funny how you can't recognize certain signs until they hit you in the face. I don't go to the barn super often and so it wasn't exceptionally odd to never catch them laying down. Only when I think about it, I have caught the horses laying down at least a handful of times at every barn we have been at and my routine of showing up at various times on various days has never really changed. So the fact that I never, not even a single time, in 1.5 years saw them laying down is a bad sign.

They are happy now though. And that is what matters.

  1. I love barn owners who post updates like this. The last place I boarded the husband would send pictures of silly things the horses were doing and post to facebook and send to the owner specifically. It was a nice touch and I always appreciated it.

And isn't it a relief to see signs that you made a good choice? Hurray for happy ponies!

    1. It's such a new thing for me. She texts me all the time and keeps me updated on them. I love it. I just found out her husband works for a local tack shop. She texted me about a sale going on and asked if I needed anything. I think I finally found my second home :)

  2. Looks like a great barn move, horses don't lie! Ironically and simliar to you, I moved my mare about 4 months ago from a sad barn situation to a private barn that we BOTH love. Icing on top: the BO and her daughter are both avid endurance riders! Btw, I was pointed here by my friend Saiph- hope you don't mind a follow/new reader (:

    1. Welcome!! I love readers. Do you have a blog that I can follow? I would love to find an endurance family but it doesn't seem to be in the cards. Enjoy the trails!
